Merriam-Webster definition: an unpleasant often strong emotion caused by anticipation or awareness of danger

What is the most recent example of when you were afraid to do something - and then did it anyways?

Think: giving a presentation, learning a new skill or technology, having a 'crucial' conversation, athletic competition....

How did you feel before, during and after?

I keep a notebook of incidents when I have ac...

It finally happened - Junior the bulldog met the herd!

I was so nervous for this to happen.

Every evening I take the bulldogs for a walk around the farm.  When the cows came to the farm late January, I did not walk the dogs near the pasture.  Then we had all the snow and it became impossible to walk the dogs that way even if I wanted to.

The past 2 weeks however, the boys and I have been walking pretty darn close to th...

It IS here.  I am almost afraid to believe it.  I did not think this particular winter would ever come to an end.

How did you cope with it?  It is a worthy exercise to contemplate how you survived, even thrived through the grueling winter season of 2018/19.

For myself, it was our first winter on the farm.  We had 5 cows to care for during the never ending snow and brutal cold.  Every day I put on 15 pounds of clothing and b...

Every evening around 5 pm my husband and I go to the pasture and spend time with the herd.

We hand feed them apple treats, fill their water, throw out new hay and then we sit down and watch.  It is a peaceful, wonderful time for all of us!

Recently Mr. Fossler was out of town for a long weekend, and I continued this ritual without him - feeding, watering and baby talking the cows.

I gave them extra treats...

Naming your business "My Happy Place" may seem presumptuous,  bold - even risky.

However, if you are Cherie Link - it is simply the truth.

Mrs. Link is the rare person that simultaneously lights up every room she walks into AND instantly infuses you with love and kindness from her very presence.

It is my pleasure and honor to provide you a peek behind the scenes of Cherie's wonderful, giving life....

Last week I was in an automobile accident.

I was in my Suburban, crossing the intersection on a green light when a vehicle appeared in my right peripheral vision.  I slammed on my brakes.  The impact was sudden, my air bag deployed and now I have questions.

When you suffer a concussion as I did, your brain doesn't work quite right for a while.  It is different for everyone.  I am forgetful, easily confuse...

Today I am writing about staying 'hip' regarding

technology -

I just posted in my Instagram account - yes I have an Instagram account and am extremely proud of that!  Just 3 months ago I did NOT have an Instagram account and was intimidated by the very thought.  I'd seen the cute camera icon but never ventured to click it.  Then with my 22 year old son by my side I created an account.  It wasn't hard, but yes it w...

This morning I used a whole tanker truck of water - just me!

I filled up two big pails with water for my dogs.

I took a shower and did laundry.  I washed my dishes (by hand - ugh!).

I made coffee with 12 cups of water  and drank 3 glasses by breakfast.

I watered my plants and then I went outside!  Outside my cows drink from a HUGE heated water tank which I refill twice a day.

When I came in the house I went in the basement t...

Why?  Simple: you deserve them.

You deserve flowers because it is Monday.  Because you woke up today.

It does not matter who gave them to you – get over it and buy some flowers for yourself!

There is something very powerful about looking at fresh flowers on your desk, or on your kitchen counter- or where ever -  that give you a feeling of special joy every time you glance their way.

You innately smile when yo...

There are several groupings of items that bring me joy every single time I see them throughout the day.

These are small areas that reflect my personal style and passions, the flavor of our farm, have deep meaning because they were gifts or special memories.

Snapshot #1 is a collection of bulldog images hanging on my bathroom wall.  This brings me joy because I love bulldogs; we got one image as a gift and the other two during...
